Rav David Touitou chilta chiour

Segulot, Sources, and Practical Avodah
The month of Iyar (אייר) carries a unique spiritual frequency. Chazal describe it as a month of healing, inner repair, and emunah. Rav David Touitou often emphasizes that Iyar is the time when “HaKadosh Baruch Hu puts on the doctor’s coat” examining and healing His people both physically and spiritually.
🌟 1. Iyar — The Month of Healing
The acronym of אייר is famously given as:
א'ני י'‑ה ר'ופאך
“I am Hashem, your Healer.”
— Shemot 15:26
Chazal explain that while Nissan is the month of revealed miracles, Iyar is the month of hidden miracles — the quiet, internal healing that takes place beneath the surface.
Rav Touitou calls Iyar:
“אוצר גנוז” — a hidden treasure.
2. Segulah: Daily Prayer for Health (Refuah Shelema)
Rav Touitou stresses that during Iyar, the gates of healing are wide open.
Source
“כִּי אֲנִי ה׳ רֹפְאֶךָ”
— Shemot 15:26
Practice
Every day of Iyar, say a short personal tefillah:
“Ribono Shel Olam, heal me from everything that harms me — physically, emotionally, spiritually.”
Add names of people who need refuah.
Even 30 seconds counts.
3. Segulah: Read Parashat HaMan Especially on the 1st Tuesday
Because the manna began falling in Iyar, this month is deeply tied to parnassa and emunah.
Source
Parashat HaMan (Exodus 16:4–36)
Why Tuesday?
- Tuesday is the only day in Creation where “כִּי־טוֹב” appears twice.
- It is considered a day of double blessing.
Practical Example
- First Tuesday of Iyar → read Parashat HaMan with kavana.
- Some read it every day of Iyar.
4. Segulah: Work on One Middah Per Day (Omer Refinement)
Iyar is the only month fully inside the 49 days of the Omer.
Source
“וּסְפַרְתֶּם לָכֶם” — “Count for yourselves”
— Vayikra 23:15
Chazal explain:
- The Omer is a ladder of 49 levels of purification.
- Each day corresponds to a middah.
- Each middah corresponds to a part of the soul and a part of the body.
Practical Example
After counting the Omer, ask:
“Where am I today? What do I need to fix?”
Work on:
- Patience
- Gratitude
- Humility
- Discipline
- Communication
Even 2 minutes of reflection is powerful.
5. Segulah: Say Asher Yatzar with Deep Intention
Rav Touitou emphasizes that during Iyar, this beracha becomes a channel of healing.
Source
“רופא כל בשר ומפליא לעשות”
Practice
After every bathroom visit:
- Put your phone down
- Say Asher Yatzar slowly
- Think: “Hashem, keep my body functioning properly.”
This is one of the strongest segulot for health.
6. Segulah: Strengthen Emunah in Parnassa
Because the manna fell in Iyar, this month is tied to trust in Hashem’s daily sustenance.
Source
“וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֲלֵהֶם… לֶחֶם מִן הַשָּׁמָיִם”
— Shemot 16:15
Practice
- Give a small amount of tzedakah daily.
- Say:
“My parnassa comes from Hashem, not from people.” - Read Parashat HaMan (see above).
7. Segulah: Hitbodedut the Personal Conversation with Hashem
Rav Touitou calls Iyar:
“חודש ההתבודדות לרפואה”
“The month of personal prayer for healing.”
Practice
Spend 5 minutes alone:
- Thank Hashem
- Ask for healing
- Ask for clarity
- Ask for strength to break negative habits
8. Segulah: Break Addictions and Negative Patterns
The chiour mentions:
- clipot
- addictions
- emotional wounds
- spiritual blockages
Source
“וַיַּרְא ה׳ כִּי רַבָּה רָעַת הָאָדָם”
— Bereishit 6:5
Chazal: Hashem heals when a person desires to change.
Practice
Say:
“Hashem, heal me from this habit that harms me. Give me strength to change.”
9. Segulah: Rebuild Yourself Iyar as a Month of Reconstruction
Rav Touitou explains that after Yetziat Mitzrayim:
- We were liberated in Nissan
- But not yet repaired
- Iyar is the month of reconstruction
Source
“וַיֵּלְכוּ שְׁלֹשֶׁת יָמִים… וַיָּבֹאוּ מָרָתָה”
— Shemot 15:22–23
Chazal: the journey of healing begins immediately after liberation.
