Building Nukvah: Ten Days of Tremendous Power

אִם יִרְצֶה הַשֵּׁם

From psychic sleep to sovereign consciousness

A contemplative practice for the Aseret Yemei Teshuva · 1-10 Tishrei 5787 (12-21 September 2026)

Each day, perform the ZA–Nok Move: a deliberate shift from unconscious reception to conscious construction. Stop waiting for spiritual experience. Build the spiritual faculty into your physical, rational mind.

The architecture of time

Rosh HaShana 5787: sundown Friday 11 September 2026 into Saturday 12 September (Tishrei 1)
Yom Kippur 5787: sundown Sunday 20 September into Monday 21 September 2026 (Tishrei 10)

The Ten Days (Tishrei 1-10) are the gestation period of Nukvah: your conscious, rational, physical self, while Zeir Anpin (the unconscious higher self) sleeps. Each day, Imma (the Divine Mind) transfers one Mohin (brain/faculty) directly into Nukvah, bypassing the unconscious. You are building a vessel that can receive YKVK consciousness without depending on dreams, intuition, or “supernatural” experience as the main channel.

The practice: Each day, perform the ZA–Nok Move: a deliberate shift from unconscious reception to conscious construction. Stop waiting for spiritual experience. Build the spiritual faculty into your physical, rational mind.

Halacha note: Do not write on Shabbat or Yom Tov. On those days keep the work in speech, thought, prayer, and other permitted deed only. In 5787 that includes Day 1 (Rosh HaShana / Shabbat), Day 2 (Rosh HaShana II in the diaspora), Day 8 (Shabbat Shuva), and Day 10 (Yom Kippur).

This year’s gateway (5787)

The sefirot of Nukvah are stable every year. The civil calendar changes which faculty must be built under rest-law and which under work-law.

In some years Shabbat falls on Tiferet (Day 6): a midpoint Shabbat of integration, harmonizing Chesed and Gevurah before the second week.

In 5787, sanctity bookends the build:

  • Day 1 (Keter) falls on Shabbat / Rosh HaShana: will is crowned under menuchah, in speech and memory, not in writing.
  • Days 3-7 are the dense weekday forge (Binah through Netzach): list, give, refuse, balance, endure.
  • Day 8 (Hod) falls on Shabbat Shuva: acknowledgment and hearing seal what the week built, before Yesod covenants and Malchut reigns in the fast.

So this year is not only “build the vessel.” It is build the vessel under bookended rest, then become whole enough that leaked Nefesh is no longer easy prey. The Ten Days remain gestation of Nukvah while ZA sleeps. The gateway of 5787 stresses sovereignty at both crown and confession.

Day 1 · Saturday 12 Sept · Tishrei 1 (Rosh HaShana / Shabbat)

Sefira of Nukvah: Keter (Crown)
Psychological function: The will to transcend natural law

Contemplative questions - What is the one “crown” I am willing to place above my animal drives this year? - If my unconscious (ZA) is asleep, what do I choose to serve with my waking mind? - What would I do today if I knew natural law (habit, entropy, compulsion) did not bind my consciousness?

Body / Nefesh focus:
The crown of the head and the breath. Sit upright. Feel the crown reaching upward while the sit bones root down. Breathe into the top of the skull (where the shofar sound enters). This is the only day you receive primarily via sound (shofar) rather than analysis: the seed of will implanted before the sleep deepens.

The ZA–Nok Move:
ZA usually receives divine will through dreams or mystical longing. Today, Nok claims the will as her own. Speak aloud: “I choose” (not “I feel called”). The desire to return (teshuva) must become a rational decision, not an emotional impulse. Form one crowned sentence of will for the year and hold it in memory. Do not write it down today. Because Keter arrives on Shabbat this year, the crown is not a workday resolution list. It is a quiet coronation: one clear I choose, held without paper, loud enough to outrank habit when the weekday forge begins on Day 3.

Day 2 · Sunday 13 Sept · Tishrei 2 (Rosh HaShana II in the diaspora)

Sefira of Nukvah: Chokhmah (Wisdom)
Psychological function: The flash of conscious insight

Contemplative questions - What truth have I known unconsciously (through dreams or feelings) that I must now know consciously? - Where in my life do I need a flash of clarity that cuts through rationalization? - What is the seed of wisdom I received yesterday (Keter) trying to show me?

Body / Nefesh focus:
The eyes and the forehead. Chokhmah is the flash in the eyes. Practice soft eyes: take in the periphery without fixation. Feel the space between the eyebrows as the seat of conscious perception. Let Nefesh pool here, in the head, not only in the gut of emotion.

The ZA–Nok Move:
ZA receives wisdom as sudden intuition or “downloads.” Today, Nok must articulate the insight in words. Speak one insight since Rosh HaShana and explain it to yourself logically, step by step. If you cannot explain it, you have not yet built Chokhmah in Nukvah. Do not write it down today (Yom Tov in the diaspora); you may set it on paper on Day 3.

Day 3 · Monday 14 Sept · Tishrei 3 (Fast of Gedaliah)

Sefira of Nukvah: Binah (Understanding)
Psychological function: Discrimination and analysis

Contemplative questions - What must I separate from my life to become whole? (Binah is separation, as Eve was separated from Adam.) - Where is my thinking clouded by emotional bias or foreign influence (forces that harvest Nefesh)? - What is the structure, the “ribs,” of the new self I am building?

Body / Nefesh focus:
The heart and lungs. Binah is the understanding heart. Place your hand on the sternum. Breathe into the ribs (the site of Eve’s creation). Feel expansion and contraction as discernment: what to take in, what to push out. This pumps Nefesh into the conscious vessel.

The ZA–Nok Move:
ZA understands through metaphor and dream-logic. Today, Nok understands through categorization and logic. Make two lists: “What builds my Nefesh” and “What leaks my Nefesh.” The act of writing (physical) rather than only feeling (psychic) builds Binah in Nukvah. If you held yesterday’s Chokhmah in memory only, you may write it now.

Day 4 · Tuesday 15 Sept · Tishrei 4

Sefira of Nukvah: Chesed (Lovingkindness)
Psychological function: Expansion beyond limitation

Contemplative questions - Where have I been contracting out of fear when I should expand out of love? - How can I give without depleting myself? (True Chesed builds Nefesh; false Chesed leaks it.) - What boundary am I keeping that is actually a prison?

Body / Nefesh focus:
The right arm and chest. Chesed is the right arm of expansion. Stretch the right arm out to the side, palm up, offering energy without grasping. Feel the chest open. Nefesh flows from the heart down the arm and out, and returns multiplied because the giving is conscious, not compulsive.

The ZA–Nok Move:
ZA gives through unconscious compassion, feeling others’ pain automatically. Today, Nok gives through rational choice. Perform one act of kindness that you decide to do, not that you merely feel like doing. This builds the muscle of conscious generosity and proves the physical self can be as compassionate as the spiritual.

Day 5 · Wednesday 16 Sept · Tishrei 5

Sefira of Nukvah: Gevurah (Severity)
Psychological function: Restraint and boundary-setting

Contemplative questions - What must I say “no” to in order to protect the vessel I am building? - Where is my energy being harvested by habits, people, or systems that feed on my Nefesh? - What is the “goat to Azazel” I need to send away: the scapegoat carrying my wasted energy?

Body / Nefesh focus:
The left arm and the jaw. Gevurah is the left arm of contraction. Make a fist with the left hand. Feel strength in restraint. Clench the jaw slightly (seat of stubborn will). Physically feel the “no”: the closing of gates that have been leaking life force.

The ZA–Nok Move:
ZA withdraws through unconscious fear or avoidance. Today, Nok withdraws through conscious choice. Identify one thing you will refuse today, not because you are afraid, but because you have decided it does not serve your built self. This is the cap on the siphoning of your energy.

Day 6 · Thursday 17 Sept · Tishrei 6

Sefira of Nukvah: Tiferet (Beauty)
Psychological function: Harmony of expansion and contraction

Contemplative questions - How do I balance the Chesed of Day 4 with the Gevurah of Day 5 in daily life? - Where is the beauty in my character: the place where strength and mercy meet? - Am I being authentic (Tiferet as truth) or performing a role?

Body / Nefesh focus:
The torso and spine. Stand tall. Feel the spine as the tree of life, integrating the right (Chesed) and left (Gevurah). Nefesh flows in a balanced circuit. This is the beauty of a vessel that can both receive and contain.

The ZA–Nok Move:
ZA harmonizes through unconscious grace. Today, Nok harmonizes through conscious ethics. Make one decision that balances justice and mercy: where you could be harsh but choose compassion, or where you could be lenient but choose firmness. The rational mind becomes the arbiter of beauty.

Day 7 · Friday 18 Sept · Tishrei 7

Sefira of Nukvah: Netzach (Victory)
Psychological function: Endurance and sustained effort

Contemplative questions - What change am I trying to make that requires stamina, not just initial enthusiasm? - How do I maintain my boundaries (Gevurah) when tested repeatedly? - What is the long game: the victory that takes years, not days?

Body / Nefesh focus:
The right leg and thigh. Netzach is the right leg, the pillar of victory. Walk with awareness of each step. Feel the thighs pushing forward against resistance. Nefesh is stored in the muscles as endurance. Physically feel that you can keep going. Finish any needed writing before Shabbat.

The ZA–Nok Move:
ZA perseveres through unconscious stubbornness or mystical highs. Today, Nok perseveres through rational commitment. Do one thing you do not feel like doing, simply because you decided on Day 1 (Keter) that it was necessary. This proves conscious will can outlast unconscious mood.

Day 8 · Saturday 19 Sept · Tishrei 8 (Shabbat Shuva)

Sefira of Nukvah: Hod (Splendor)
Psychological function: Surrender and humility

Contemplative questions - Where must I admit “I cannot” instead of forcing “I will”? - What is the limit of my rational mind: the place where analysis must yield to mystery? - How do I surrender without giving up (the difference between Hod and defeat)?

Body / Nefesh focus:
The left leg and the body’s vulnerability. Hod is the left leg, the pillar of surrender. Bend the knees slightly. Feel the humility of the bent knee (prayer posture). Acknowledge the body’s limits: hunger, fatigue, mortality. Do not write today.

The ZA–Nok Move:
ZA surrenders through dissolution, losing itself in the infinite. Today, Nok surrenders through acknowledgment. Admit one limitation of your rational mind. Speak: “This I do not know.” This is the splendor of a vessel that knows its own boundaries. It prevents the ego from shattering when YKVK energy becomes intense. This is 5787’s Shabbat of acknowledgment. Use the rest not as midpoint harmony, but as sonic seal: name what leaked, hear the inner Voice, gather scattered Nefesh by truth-telling before Yesod binds the channel tomorrow.

Day 9 · Sunday 20 Sept · Tishrei 9 (Erev Yom Kippur)

Sefira of Nukvah: Yesod (Foundation)
Psychological function: Connection and integration

Contemplative questions - How do I connect all the faculties I have built this week into a single foundation? - What is the covenant I am making between my physical self and my higher self? - Am I ready to be the bridge between Heaven and Earth?

Body / Nefesh focus:
The pelvis and the covenant center. Sit with awareness of the pelvic floor. This is the vessel that holds the Nefesh you have gathered. Eat today (Erev Yom Kippur) knowing physical food is being converted into the energetic foundation for tomorrow’s fast. Finish any writing before the fast begins.

The ZA–Nok Move:
ZA connects through mystical union, losing boundaries. Today, Nok connects through covenant, maintaining boundaries while joining. Make a formal commitment: a contract with yourself (or with Heaven) that integrates the insights of the previous eight days. Speak it clearly; write it only if still before the fast. This seals the vessel.

Day 10 · Monday 21 Sept · Tishrei 10 (Yom Kippur)

Sefira of Nukvah: Malchut (Kingship)
Psychological function: Sovereignty and actualization

Contemplative questions - Who am I now that I have built all ten faculties? - Can I rule my physical existence (hunger, fatigue, emotion) from conscious choice rather than compulsion? - Am I ready to proclaim: “YKVK is Elohim,” the higher mind now as my natural mind?

Body / Nefesh focus:
The entire body and the mouth. Malchut is the whole vessel, and especially the mouth, where the Living Word enters. Today you fast. Feel the emptiness of the stomach (Nukvah independent of physical sustenance). Nefesh now enters through breath and the words of the liturgy. The body reverberates closer to the frequency of the other dimension because you have built it to do so. Do not write today.

The ZA–Nok Move:
Today, ZA awakens to find Nok complete. The union occurs not in the unconscious dream world, but in the conscious, waking, physical world. This is at-one-ment. As you fast, the physical body becomes like the Ark. The conscious mind becomes like the High Priest. Energy that was harvested by “the others” is now retained and channeled by your sovereign self.

The final proclamation:
When you say “YKVK is Elohim,” you declare that your built, rational, physical consciousness (Nukvah / Malchut) is now the throne of the Divine. The supernatural has become natural. The exile, for this stretch of real time, is over.

The secret assembled

The bits and pieces reveal this: the Ten Days are not a return to Eden (unconscious unity), but the construction of a new Eden (conscious unity).

By putting ZA to sleep, Imma forces you to become fully human (rational, analytical, physical) while retaining the powers of the higher self. Each day installs one faculty of Nukvah until, on Yom Kippur, you are “naked and not ashamed”: conscious and unconscious face each other without the veil of exile.

Two accents, one architecture:

  • Vessel: stop waiting for downloads; build Mohin into waking Mind.
  • Sovereignty: seal leaks; cap what was being drained; become a source rather than easy prey.

When Nok is complete, the Higher Mind can operate inside natural law through you. That is the meaning of YKVK is Elohim: above has come below. Wholeness is the goal; becoming hard to harvest is what wholeness does in a world of inverted flow.

You have built the vessel. Now you can hold the light.
